    Revised 5-13-2020

On May 29, Gov. Ron DeSantis officially announced that Florida has passed the criteria to begin Phase One of reopening. Soon after his announcement Pastor Jeff and the deacons met to discuss our own reopening plans. The plan was updated last night to reflect the most current data. The plan is still contingent upon Covid-19 data that is released over the next few weeks and is a staged reopening plan not unlike the approach of the White House’s plan.

Here are some safety practices we will observe during the reopening. Increased availability of hand sanitizer at all entrances. Printed bulletins will not be distributed by hand. Instead, we will continue mailing newsletters until Phase Three when bulletins will be available for pick-up at entrances. In the early weeks of our return, offering plates will not be passed during the service. Offering boxes will be placed in the front and back of the sanctuary for offerings.

With that said let me also say that your health is your responsibility. Please stay informed on Covid-19 and use best practices to avoid infection. If you are not comfortable returning to in-person worship services, we will be continuing to use Facebook Live even after we reopen. If you are in what the White House has labeled a Vulnerable Population, consider waiting until Phase Two for returning to in-person services. Although you will not be required to use a mask, many healthcare professionals are recommending the use of a mask when outside your home.

Phase One of Reopening – Tentatively Scheduled of May 17, 2020

During Phase One, we will offer in-person worship services on Sunday morning and evening and Wednesday Night. During these services we will be following strict social distancing and limit the number of people in the sanctuary to no more than 100 at a time. To accommodate more than 100 we will use the Family Life Center and Fellowship Hall as overflow. During Phase One, we are not reopening Sunday School, Missions Education, Children’s Church, or nursery. Committee meetings may resume with strict social distancing. We strongly encourage you to wear a face mask on campus during Phase One.

Phase Two of Reopening – Possibly June 2020

During Phase Two we allow as many people into the sanctuary as possible allowing for social distancing. We will also reopen Sunday School and start having some other events. We will decide of Children’s ministries and nursery as we get closer to Phase Two.

Phase Three of Reopening – Date to be determined

During Phase Three we will return to a normal schedule with some amount of moderate social distancing.

  • Covid-19 Update 3-17-2020

Here at New Home Baptist Church, our members and guests are a family. Like you, during these last few weeks we’ve been focused on doing all the things we need to do to keep our families safe and healthy.

We’re following guidance about the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak from federal, state and local agencies, including the CDC and other health organizations. We are continuously monitoring the rapidly evolving situation.

In consideration of public health concerns related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), New Home Baptist Church will suspend public worship gatherings on campus in favor of worshiping online.  In addition, all church activities are suspended until further notice.  Please continue to visit nhbcperry.com for updates about future worship gatherings and Church activities.

Church offices will remain open at this time.

You are encouraged to attend worship this Sunday via Facebook Live during regular service times of 11 am and 6 pm.

Wednesday night service will also be broadcast via Facebook Live. You can use our Prayer Page at http://nhbcperry.com/prayer to share prayer requests with the church family.

We hope you will remain faithful in your generosity by giving online. Or you may use this as an opportunity to start automating your giving through your bank account.

We must remain the church, as the church in Acts did.  Not a building, but a people.

Thank You, and we look forward to seeing you online.

Above all, do not panic, look instead for reliable sources.
